C. J. Powell

C.J. is a highly experienced fashion, lifestyle and swimwear photographer with a background in marketing and retail. He is formally trained, earning a Master of Fine Arts at The Academy of Art University, San Francisco.

His work has been recognized by the prestigious International Color Awards in 2025 with a Fashion Honor of Distinction and two Honorable Mentions in Fashion and 2024 with a Fashion Honorable Mention. Additionally, he was recognized by the International Photography Awards in 2024 for a fashion series and the Black and White Spider Awards (2020, 2016, 2015 and 2014) for Fashion and Fine Art Nude.

He is published in the US, Canada and Europe. Most recently published in Vigour, Vancouver, Canada (April, 2025) and the “Tropical Paradise Edition” of Malvie, Paris, FR (October, 2024), were his photographs were featured on the cover. He has also been published in Lookbook, Paris, FR, Elle’ments, NY, NY, and Image, Toronto Canada,

He has worked with swimwear and resort wear brands, designers and modeling agencies

He has traveled globally and has extended stays in Panama, Mexico, Turkey and United Arab Emirates. His interests include scuba diving and maritime history.

Currently, he resides in Arizona and available for bookings worldwide.
